Wittenberg Preschool is a non-profit sponsored preschool that has operated as a ministry of Wittenberg Lutheran Church since 2000. The school is administered under the supervision of a Preschool Director and Advisory Board. We offer half-day programs for children from 2 to 5 years of age.

Wittenberg Preschool is designed to provide an encouraging and challenging environment to develop children’s intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth in a Christian setting. Developmentally appropriate activities including Bible teachings, free play, circle time, story time, music, creative movement, group activities, and learning centers promote the growth of the whole child and establish a solid foundation for future learning. We use the Zoo-phonic program to teach our children phonics. This program teaches phonics though zoo animals with letter sounds and movement.

Our Story

Wittenberg Preschool started out as a Mother’s Morning Out program in 1998. Several members of Wittenberg had children of the same age and wanted to create a time and place for their children to play and for “mommy” to have a few hours to herself.  The parents would take turns watching the children. After advertising to friends and family, the first class had 15 children! The Mother’s Morning Out program sparked interest in a preschool program for older children. So, in 2000, Wittenberg purchased “little white house” on Oak Street in Granite Quarry, 2 house down from the church building and our Preschool program began!

The “little white house” now holds our 5 day a week 4 year old program. Our 2 and 3 Year Old Classes are held in the educational building at Wittenberg Lutheran Church.
